That all changed in maybe the coolest fashion ever back in April, when they secretly posed as the cover band “Tudor Cinema Club” and played a few tiny pubs around Ireland - the same pubs they played when they were just starting out as a band. Not only has the band been dormant in the studio, but before a few months ago they hadn’t played a gig in more than two years. It’s fast paced and retains the sound Two Door has gone for since Tourist History, their 2010 debut LP. I’ve been waiting patiently for this moment since Beacon came out back in 2012, and while I could do without the kids repeatedly chanting throughout the chorus, “Are We Ready? (Wreck)” is everything I’ve been hoping for. The band also announced the new album Gameshow will be out October 14th. “Are We Ready? (Wreck)” debuted Tuesday night on BBC Radio 1 and is now available for streaming. It’s been nearly four years since the release of their sophomore LP Beacon, and finally Northern Ireland indie rock trio Two Door Cinema Club is back with some new material.
